students who did little during the application process. My greatest satisfaction is hearing the excitement in my student's voices when they get into their first choice school, and I dedicate everything I have to make that happen.
In addition to my private practice as an Independent Educational Consultant, I work in high schools with lower income and FirstGen students, who are the first in their families to attend college. They all have unique stories, including many whose parents moved to the U.S. to have better educational opportunities. Financial aid and scholarships are a large component of my work with them.
Prior to finding my dream career in college counseling, I spent over twenty years working in project management for large corporations including General Electric, AT&T, and Microsoft. I have an undergraduate degree in Communications from the University of Illinois, a Master’s degree in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Certificate in College Counseling from UCLA. My husband and I divide our year between Mercer Island, WA and Austin, TX. I work with students in both those cities as well as in other parts of the country via Zoom. We have one son who graduated from his first choice university and is now employed in a career directly related to his field of study. After being accepted into what had once been her first choice college, my daughter wound up attending another university on her list that she felt was a better fit. They were my very first clients, who unwittingly and unknowingly, introduced me to the field of college advising.

About
I'm on a mission to help you find whatever awaits you, even if you have no idea what it is. Part of the key to unlocking that is finding a college that allows you to thrive both academically and socially. Making the perfect connection between you and college is an art, not a science, and I'm passionate about my art. Getting to know you through our work together on your personal essays is my favorite aspect in my practice. Through brainstorming, talking, reflecting, and writing, we work 1:1 to add the personal layer to an otherwise one-dimensional application. Since all of my students are unique, we work together to personalize the application process to fit your individual needs. I start by spending time understanding you academically, socially, and personally. I then guide you through the steps without taking the steps for you. My belief is that by empowering you, and not doing the work for you, you will work harder to get into the right schools and ultimately value those schools much more than
